CASE 02 / DESIGN & FEASIBILITY

When the lens
changes the shape.

A real development discussion made the relationship between the desired contour and lens construction explicit.

A / Original contourReview an alternative lens construction
Upper original study — keep the frame contour
B / Revised contourDevelop around the intended TAC lens
Lower original study — revise the frame for the intended TAC lens

Two priorities.
Two development routes.

The archived sample proposal compared keeping the intended outline with keeping the intended TAC lens. The drawing and physical fronts make that discussion concrete.

ROUTE A / SHAPE FIRST

Keep the original contour.

The archived proposal identifies nylon or CR39 polarized lenses as alternatives for the original outline.

Review together: front outline + lens solution.
ROUTE B / LENS FIRST

Keep the intended lens.

The archived proposal revises the frame contour to work with the intended TAC lens.

Review together: lens fit + revised geometry.

The record shows the proposed routes and reference samples. Final customer approval of either route is not documented here.
